There’s a new chapter unfolding in the chicken wars, but the good news is it could mean free chicken for fans of Shake Shack and Chick-fil-A.

While Shake Shack doesn’t have nearly as many restaurants as Chick-fil-A – 262 versus 3059 – if there’s one in your area you may be able to score some free chicken during the month of April.

It’s not clear if Chick-fil-A is fighting its competitor’s “CHICKENSUNDAY” jab by offering free chicken too, but as the old saying goes, “****** ***** with *****.” Or in this case, “****** freebie with freebie.”

Chick-fil-A’s offer is only for app users and it’s only good through April 27. If you’ve got the app, check your rewards section where consumers have reported finding an option for 8 free regular nuggets, 8 free grilled nuggets, or 3 free chicken strips.

So far, the offer has been reported at Chick-fil-A restaurants from Florida all the way to the Delmarva area (Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia).
