‘Fits that bill’: Dragons sign Emre Guler for the next two seasons as mystery surrounds Francis Molo’s future

The Dragons have moved swiftly to bolster their front-row stocks with Emre Guler signing on for the next two seasons as the club continues to deal with uncertainty over the future of experienced prop Francis Molo.

Guler spent seven seasons with the Raiders and came off the bench for them in the 2019 Grand Final, with the Junior Kangaroos representative set to get more opportunities at the Red V.

The 27-year-old was at a Canberra team that boasts one of the most stacked forward packs in the NRL, with Guler likely to come straight into the 17 at the Dragons.

His decision to sign comes on the back of news that Molo has stopped training and is reportedly agitating for an immediate release from his contract.

Guler is the latest established player to join the Dragons who have also signed Clint Gutherson, Damien Cook, Valentine Holmes and Lachlan Ilias for 2025.

“I’ve said consistently we need to bring another experienced middle into our roster for 2025,” coach Shane Flanagan said.

“Emre certainly fits that bill. With his size and experience he will add plenty of value to our roster as well as help to mentor our emerging crop of middle forwards.”
