Swimmers ordered out of the water of Maroubra Beach in Sydney after possible shark sighting

Swimmers have been forced out of the water following a potential shark sighting at a beach in Sydney’s east.

A shark alarm went off about 3.20pm at Maroubra Beach on Monday, according to 7NEWS.

The network reports swimmers were ordered out of the water as a safety precaution.

Video from the scene shows multiple swimmers gathered at shore after the warning was sounded.
