Perth traffic: Emu spotted on Tokin Highway near Beechboro Road, Whiteman, drivers urged to be cautious

Drivers on Tonkin Highway have been urged to “be aware and pay attention” after an emu was spotted running on the busy road.

The Aussie animal was seen running near Beechboro Road, Whiteman about 2.30pm on Monday.

showing the emu running alongside the road before crossing into traffic causing multiple drivers to come to a stop to avoid hitting the animal.

The emu is unharmed and drivers are told to be cautious.

Perth Traffic said: “Our friend found its way into the bushes, but please continue to be aware and alert.”
