Sinead O’Connor leaves children $3.3m – and tells them to ‘milk’ her records

Sinead O’Connor left her children £1.7million in her will – and urged them to “milk” her albums for all their worth.

The singer died of natural causes aged 56 last July, just months after her son, Shane Lunny, 17, took his own life.

Ms O’Connor, known for her 1990 hit Nothing Compares 2 U, left her music to her surviving children – Jake Reynolds, 36, Roisin Waters, 27, and 16-year-old Yeshua Bonadio.

According to her will, she said: “After my death, and at the discretion of any of my children who are then over 18, my albums are to be released so as to ‘milk it for what it’s worth’”.

She added: “My children can dispense my ashes as they see fit.”

The legal papers, obtained by The Sun, also said that at her ******** she wanted to be dressed in priestly robes and have a Hebrew ****** and her album Theology in her coffin.

Her youngest child, Yeshua, is due to inherit her guitars.

Her music-producing former husband John Reynolds, father of Jake, is the executor of the will.

The couple were married in 1987 and despite separating in 1991, continued to work together.

Ms O’Connor, who was born in Dublin, went on to marry three more times. In 1999 she became a Latin Tridentine priest after she was ordained by Bishop Michael Cox, in a move which shocked many in Ireland.

Ms O’Connor died from “the exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchial asthma”, at her flat in south London.

When O’Connor’s family announced her death they said they were “devastated” and asked for “privacy at this very difficult time”.

The music star, who changed her name to Shuhada’ Sadaqat in 2018, after she converted to Islam, referred to the death of her son in her last post on X: “Been living as undead night creature since. He was the love of my life, the lamp of my soul.

“We were one soul in two halves. He was the only person who ever loved me unconditionally.

“I am lost in the bardo without him.”
