Fort Collins picks up largest snowfall of the season, with nearly 6 inches reported

Fort Collins picked up its largest snowfall of the season with 5.8 inches of light, fluffy snow Saturday at the city’s official weather station on the main CSU campus.

After a slow start to the snow season, including a second straight year with no snowfall in December, the city has now received 11 inches of snow in January through Saturday, according to the Colorado Climate Center.

Average snowfall for the month is 6.7 inches.

Fort Collins should see that snow melting this week as daily high temperatures are forecast for the mid- to high 40s through the weekend.

Loveland (1 mile east): 8 inches

Berthoud (4 miles west-southwest): 6.3 inches

Laporte (1 mile northwest): 6 inches

Loveland (1 mile west): 5 inches

Fort Collins (3 miles southwest): 5 inches

Greeley ( 2 miles southwest): 4 inches

Windsor ( 4 miles southwest): 3.5 inches

Estes Park (2 miles south-southeast): 3.5 inches

Timnath ( 2 miles north): 1.5 inches:

Larimer County foothills, mountains

Longs Peak (4 miles north-northwest): 13.5 inches

Cameron Pass (6 miles east): 12 inches

Pingree Park (3 miles west-northwest): 6 inches

Around Colorado

Boulder (3 miles south-southwest): 6.9 inches

Colorado Springs (2 miles north-northwest): 6 inches

Denver (3 miles east): 2 inches

Colorado mountains

Grand Lake (5 miles south-southwest): 12 inches

Winter Park (5 miles west-northwest): 9 inches

Rabbit Ears Pass: 6 inches

Copper Mountain: 4.5 inches

Loveland Pass: 4.5 inches
