, the next movie based on Capcom’s popular survival popular video game series will be directed by Zach Cregger, the actor and writer who helmed 2022 horror film Barbarian.

Constantin Film, which has held the screen rights for Resident Evil since the 1990s, will reportedly produce the reboot along with PlayStation Productions, a studio formed in 2019 by Sony Interactive Entertainment to adapt its original game properties for film and television in partnership with Sony Pictures.

Shay Hatten, who worked on John Wick: Chapter 4 and Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, will co-write, it’s claimed.
