Warner’s games boss is leaving, following disappointing Multiversus and Suicide Squad launches

Warner Bros. Interactive’s president David Haddad is leaving his position, after 12 years at the division, the company has confirmed.

The news was shared internally on Thursday, where it was confirmed the exec will continue with his role for the next three months until a successor is found.

“David has thoughtfully and purposefully chosen a time when our release schedule is lighter which will help minimize disruption to our ongoing projects and strategic plans and allow this team to smoothly prepare for its next record-breaking title,” Warner Bros. Haddad said: “I am so proud of everything we’ve accomplished together at Warner Bros. Games during my time with the company.

“It has been an absolute pleasure working on and building our iconic gaming franchises, and I will continue to be an enthusiastic supporter of this talented team’s future endeavors. I look forward to working on the next chapter of my career and will always be grateful for my time with Warner Bros. Games.“

Haddad’s exist follows a challenging year for Warner Bros.’ games division, which included the disappointing launches of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and the relaunch of Multiversus.

This led to Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav highlighting the games division as weak link for the company in its most recent financial results, where he said it was “substantially underperforming its potential”.

Warner Bros. Discovery has said planning a follow-up to 2023’****** Hogwarts Legacy is a priority for the company. The Harry Potter spin-off was 2023’s best-selling game ahead of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
