Section of Wellington Street closed as police work to arrest man who scaled roof

A street in the Perth CBD has been shut as police try to apprehend a man who has scaled a roof in the area.

Wellington Street in the Perth CBD has been closed both directions between Pier Street and Lord Street since 7pm.

WA Police said the road was closed as a result of officers working to negotiate with a man who had scaled a roof.

Main Roads WA have urged drivers to seek an alternative route and exercise extreme caution as there is congestion in the area.
