Kalgoorlie police urgently searching for man driving missing car after child inside when vehicle was stolen

Detectives are urgently searching for a car that had a child inside when it was stolen in Kalgoorlie.

Police said a man stole an orange Kia Sportage from Great Eastern Highway near Gatacre Drive in Somerville about 4.05pm on Wednesday.

A child was inside the car when it was taken, however was found “safe and well” by police a short time later.

The vehicle has WA registration plates ‘KBC057F’. It is believed it may be missing the rear number plate.

The man believed to have stolen the car is described as approximately 160cm tall, of slim build, of dark complexion, and was wearing ****** track suit pants, a ****** hoodie, and carrying a white clutch bag.

If anyone from the public sees the car they are urged to not approach and contact police immediately on 131 444.
