Lawrence James Coomerang: Broome man accused of Jasmine Ah-Chue’s Christmas night 2023 ******* fights charge

A man accused of murdering a woman at a Cable Beach home on Christmas night in 2023 is set to fight the allegation.

Lawrence James Coomerang was charged two days after a 34-year-old woman was found with serious head injuries at a Roe Place property.

She died at the scene despite desperate efforts to save her.

Mr Coomerang, who police say knew the woman, entered a not guilty plea in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court via video-link from the maximum-security Casuarina Prison on Wednesday.

Represented by Patti Chong, the 32-year-old is seeking to have his trial held in Broome.

Mr Coomerang will have his first appearance in the Supreme Court on April 28.
