comes from various development teams, who addressed player feedback concerning the abundance of cheating currently experienced in Ranked Play modes for both ****** Ops 6 and Warzone. Some changes are live now, including Call of Duty’s Ricochet anti-cheat being enhanced with updated detection models for behaviors such as aim-botting. Over 136,000 Ranked Play account bans have also been issued since the modes launched.

As for upcoming changes in Season 2, Call of Duty is finally granting players the ability to disable cross-play for consoles. However, this feature is only available to toggle on and off within the Ranked Play modes. The update also adds additional Ricochet upgrades, such as new and improved client- and server-side detections and systems, a major kernel-level driver update, and improvements to driver security.

Even more changes are planned for combating cheaters in Season 3. The development team describes these future upgrades as being “a multitude of new tech, including a brand-new system to authenticate legit players and target cheaters.” These updates are vague, but more details will be provided closer to launch.

The development team says, “We’re not slowing down in our mission to shut down cheaters whose only mission is to ruin the fun for everyone else, and we’re confident that the combination of the updates above, as well as ongoing improvements to our detection systems and Activision’s continued legal actions against ******** cheat sellers, will provide a demonstrably healthier gameplay experience going forward.”

In addition to the war against cheaters, server issues were addressed for both ****** Ops 6 and Warzone.

“We’ve seen community reports of increased rubber-banding, packet loss notifications, and server disconnects in recent weeks, especially in Ranked Play and in certain regions where some players may not have access to as many servers as others.”

The development team says it has solved some server issues in regions that had recently experienced instability, and that new improvements have been made to Call of Duty’s server infrastructure to “reduce targeted cases of malicious activities on our infrastructure and players.”

Hopefully, players will find a much more stable and hacker-free experience when Season 2 arrives on January 28. The big update includes a brand-new Zombies map, new DLC weapons to unlock, and more.
