Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 releasing late 2024

Warhorse Studios officially announced the release of the much anticipated Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 for late 2024. While a set date has yet to be revealed, the sequel is launching on the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

, Vávra revealed that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a “behemoth of a game” almost twice as large as the original:

What we are making now is what it was supposed to be in the beginning, but we weren’t able to do it because we didn’t have enough resources and experiences and all that stuff.

We’ve proven the concept works, so now we can take it to another level, which is what we always wanted.

The sequel continues the story of Henry and his companion, Sir Hans Capon, as they venture forth toward grander adventures. It is revealed by the developers that Henry will receive greater customization features, including a more developed reputation system in which NPCs react depending on different choices such as drinking or thieving.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 also takes historical realism further by employing external advisors, such as historians, universities, and experts of different ethnicities and religious beliefs with the aim of creating a lived-in medieval world. The weapons in the game have also been expanded for historical realism. The sequel now features crossbows and early firearms, which were missing from the original Kingdom Come. The sequel is also built around an updated CryEngine, which was also used in the original.

In our review of Kingdom Come: Deliverance for the Switch, we said the original featured a “unique story, setting, and believable characters.” We look forward to seeing how the sequel expands on Henry’s story and this beautiful medieval world.
