Diamond Member Steam 0 Posted January 17 Diamond Member Share Posted January 17 Following numerous leaks, Nintendo has officially unveiled their next console with the Switch 2. This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Similar to the original Switch, Nintendo has put out a video that shows out first look at the new console. The Switch 2 will feature the signature Joy-Cons like the original but now with a magnetic attachment system instead of a sliding rail. Each Joy-**** has the usual array of thumbsticks, D-Pad, face buttons, home button but there’s a new button below the home button on the right Joy-**** controller. Nintendo Switch 2 The kickstand on the back is now a U-shape design and the screen of the Switch 2 looks larger but Nintendo hasn’t given many details. On the top of the tablet portion of the Switch 2, you’ll find a power button, volume, headphone jack, speaker grill and ventilation, game cartridge slot and a USB-C port, presumably for accessories and charging. The bottom of the Switch 2 has another USB-C port that will be used to connect to the dock. Also, Switch 1 owners who’ve acquired a big library of games, don’t fret as Nintendo has said that the Switch 2 is backwards compatible and can play both physical and digital Switch games. However, they have said that certain Switch 1 games may not be supported or fully compatible but the company hasn’t said which ones. The Switch 2 will have exclusive titles such as new Mario Kart that Nintendo showed brief glimpses of in the Switch 2 trailer. There’s also still a lot we don’t know about the new console such as processor, specific screen resolution, battery life and pricing. Nintendo says they’ll be hosting a Nintendo Direct on April 2nd, where they’ll reveal more about their upcoming console. In addition, Nintendo is holding a number of hands-on events in cities around the world including: North America: This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Europe:Paris, April 4-6, 2025London, April 11-13, 2025Milan, April 25-27, 2025Berlin, April 25-27, 2025Madrid, May 9-11, 2025Amsterdam, May 9-11, 2025 Oceania: This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Asia:Tokyo (Makuhari), April 26-27, 2025Seoul, May 31-June 1, 2025Hong Kong, To be announcedTaipei, To be announced Registration opens from January 17th at 3pm ET until January 26th at 11:59pm local time.
