Diamond Member Pelican Press 0 Posted April 20, 2024 Diamond Member Share Posted April 20, 2024 Turtle Beach Retiring Roccat Brand After Almost 20 Years In 2006, Roccat was founded in Germany, and then in 2019, the Turtle Beach Corporation – one of the biggest gaming accessories brands in the world – acquired the label for $19 million. It was just revealed that Turtle Beach plans to sunset the Roccat brand, eliminating it after almost twenty years on the market and transitioning the product line under the Turtle Beach heading. Roccat has enjoyed a relatively successful streak in recent years, with the brand seeing a line-up of gaming mice, keyboards, and other accessories released to a positive reception in the peripherals market. I’ve used a Roccat Vulcan keyboard for around a year and maintain that it’s one of the best gaming devices I’ve ever used. For a while, Dr Disrespect, the iconic and controversial streamer, has leant on Roccat’s products to power his gaming streams – but that’s likely owed to a long-time Turtle Beach partnership. It was revealed by Turtle Beach’s representatives that the company wants to focus on a single brand, but it doesn’t mean the end of these product lines that have been running for years, like the Vulcan keyboards and the Kone mouse range. In a statement, the firm said: Our commitment to PC products ******** as strong as ever and we have several ground-breaking new products to introduce as well as Turtle Beach-branded versions of popular existing Roccat products sticking around. Roccat might not have been as prolific as the likes of Razer or Logitech, but it was up there as a considerably recognisable and high-quality brand.
