Tinker and Vance AFB suspends Trusted Traveler Program, 100% ID checks begin

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (KFOR) —

(TAFB) officials suspended its Trusted Traveler Program on Friday citing by order of the U.S. Northern Command commander, during the suspension *******, a 100% ID check will be enforced at all gates for individuals 18-years-old and over.

According to TAFB, individuals without a DoD-issued ID card are required to visit the Tinker Visitor Center during business hours to get a visitor’s pass. The Tinker Visitor Center is located at the Tinker Gate on Air Depot Blvd, and is open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

When the Visitor Center is not open, a mobile patrol will process the request for a pass at the gate, but expect significant delays. All non-DoD visitors will undergo standard identification checks and security procedures, regardless of their affiliation with a DoD-ID holder.

TAFB says, they are committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment and have full confidence in its ability to maintain a strong security posture while continuing to execute the mission. Additionally confirming, the safety and security of the installation, personnel and families remain top priority.
