Troubled ex-TV host Andrew O’Keefe arrested, charged with driving with drug in system

Former TV host Andrew O’Keefe has found himself back before the courts after being charged with driving with an illicit drug in his system.

The former Deal or No Deal host, 53, was stopped in his Mercedes sedan for random testing on Cranbrook Rd in Rose Bay about 11.30am on Sunday, NSW Police said in a statement.

“The driver was subject to a roadside breath test, returned with a negative result,” a police spokesman said.

“He was also subject to a roadside drug test, which returned a positive indication.

“He was taken to Waverley Police Station where he underwent an oral fluid test that allegedly returned a positive reading.

“An oral fluid sample was obtained and sent for further analysis.”

NSW Police confirmed Mr O’Keefe was charged with “drive vehicle, illicit drug present in blood etc” and his licence was suspended.

He will front Waverley Local Court on January 20.

The new charge follows Mr O’Keefe receiving 30-month community corrections order and $2500 in fines after pleading guilty to multiple drug-related offences in October last year.
