The rider and his friend parked along Highway 89 and had been downhill riding near Saxon Creek Trail and Warr Trail until it became dark. Becoming impatient, the friend left the rider several miles from a trailhead without any kind of light or way to get back to their vehicle. Not wanting to get lost trying to find their way back, around 5 p.m. the rider called 911. ******** ********** grow robbed in Calaveras County At 7:30 p.m., two teams of ski rescuers left Christmas Valley and began working their way up to the rider using Warr Trail. The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office assisted searchers with their helicopter Echo 1 flew over the reported location of the rider and confirmed he was still there.
