Baudin ******: RAC Rescue helicopter enroute to truck ******, driver freed after tree fell on vehicle

Firefighters have used a chainsaw to free an injured truck driver after he crashed into a tree before it fell on the vehicle, trapping him inside.

The RAC rescue helicopter has been sent to the scene of the ******, which occurred near Mowen Road in Baudin just before 1.30pm on Friday.

A department of fire and emergency services spokeswoman said the truck had crashed before a tree had fallen, trapping the male driver inside his vehicle.

Firefighters used a chainsaw to remove tree before they were able to free the driver. By 2.20pm he was handed over to paramedics.

A St John WA spokeswoman said his condition was unknown.

Roads in the area are expected to be closed in order to allow the rescue helicopter to land.
