Ellenbrook woman, 59, accused of failing to get adequate vet care for ******* riddled cat

An Ellenbrook woman whose cat was riddled with ******* is facing a potential $50,000 fine amid claims she neglected her ****.

The 59-year-old is accused of failing to take her sick cat to the vet despite it having a tumour on its lip and a large, pus-filled infected abscess near its throat.

The RSPCA WA received a cruelty report about the cat’s condition in January 2023.

When they spoke to the woman, they claimed she admitted the cat had lost a lot of weight but ate daily.

Inspectors claim she argued with them saying the cat was fine.

She’s nearly dead. She’s at the end of her life. I’m letting her live her life,” she allegedly said.

“I want her to die natural (sic).”

A vet examination noted the cat was in chronic pain and its overall poor condition showed it had suffered for a long *******.

The cat was put down and a postmortem showed the tumour was cancerous.

In court on January 3, the RSPCA WA will allege the cat suffered harm which could have been alleviated by the accused taking reasonable steps.
