Emergency services responding after car drives off bridge and plunges into river in Collie

Emergency services are responding after a car plunged from a bridge into a river near Collie.

Early reports suggest two people were in the car when the incident happened near the Schultz Bridge on Collie-Preston Road, near Skipworth Road, about 11.30am on Thursday.

Several ambulance crews are responding under priority conditions.

A man has been taken to Collie Hospital.

Paramedics are still treating the second person at the scene.

Police have warned motorists to avoid the area, with the Collie Preston Road, near the Collie River, closed in both directions.
