Dubbed the Cave Pokemon, Druddigon is one of the latest additions to Pokemon TCG‘s Mythical Island expansion. Since it’s a Dragon-type card, Druddigon comes with 100 HP and no weaknesses. Although this mon can’t evolve into another one, it has the ability of Rough Skin, which is useful when he is in the Active Spot.

If Druddigon soaks any damage when it is the Active Pokemon, Rough Skin will output 20 damage to its opponent, which can force players to spend a Potion quite early on. However, Druddigon’s Retreat cost and dependency on Water and Fire Energy can prove to be an issue.

Unlike other Pokemon games, Dragon and Metal types aren’t the center of attention in Pokémon TCG. However, there’s still a niche use for Druddigon, which can help you wreck the current meta decks and easily take down powerful cards.

Since Druddigon is a Basic Pokemon, you can immediately place it in the Active Spot within your opening hand as a wall that can allow you to set your Benched Pokemon for future turns. The mon’s Rough Skin will also act as a defense against some early attacks, as the damage can stack up with each turn.

When you pair cards that can reduce Retreat costs, Druddigon can allow other Pokemon, such as Greninja and Rapidash, to come in and knock out the enemy’s Active Pokemon once Rough Skin deals chip damage.

Since Pokémon TCG has a 20-card limit for every deck, it means cards that can do heal back damage come at a premium. This makes Druddigon quite a useful pick in the current meta.

suggest that Pokémon TCG has managed to earn $208 million in revenue for its first month. Even on its lowest day of spending, October 30, it still managed to make over $2.7 million. On its most successful day, November 22, it saw more than $8.4 million in terms of revenue.

All of this money is directly coming in from in-game purchases, such as cosmetics and features that let players grab more cards that they can open without paying a single dime.

However, the game hasn’t managed to escape criticism. Many in the community believe that some microtransactions in Pokémon TCG feature pay-to-win aspects. But this isn’t something new for mobile games, as we’ve seen the industry’s top titles using similar practices to even greater lengths.
