Upcoming Marvel Game Will Introduce a Third Super Soldier After Captain America, ****** Panther

Marvel as a franchise is currently blowing up in the gaming industry thanks to NetEase Games’ Magnus opus, Marvel Rivals. Right from its initial reveal, it caught everyone’s eye, and now that it’s out in the wild, the hero-shooter is dominating the competition and establishing a name for itself in the genre.

However, there’s more on the horizon from this superhero universe. Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is the next project by Amy Henning, who gave us titles such as Uncharted and Legacy of Kain.

It’s currently being developed by Skydance New Media and has a lot of expectations. The developer is taking a unique approach to the game and even planning to bring a third super soldier that players barely know about.

Hennig opened up about the development of the upcoming Marvel action-adventure game and the experience her team is looking to deliver. She also gave us insights into what we can expect to see, which included a brand-new super soldier who is in Paris.

They are non-interventionist, but events transpire that pull them into the conflict. They have to protect their interests. The world is getting smaller. No satellites yet, but there will be soon. You can shoot down planes that maybe want to fly over Wakanda, but how long can you stay in the shadows?

Who could this super soldier be? Well, that’s anyone’s guess. However, considering the fact that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is presenting us with a Nazi Germany background, the super-solider might be none other than Master Man.

If you’re unaware, Master Man is one of the biggest supervillains in the Marvel universe, first shown all the way back in The Invaders #16(1997). His real name is Wilhelm Lohmer, and he is a Nazi-super soldier who is powered by an experimental serum crafted during World War II.

Just like Captain America and Red Skull, the serum gave him massive strength, durability, and speed. Considering his background and abilities, he will undoubtedly prove to be a devastating foe for our main cast to overcome.

With Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra looking to take a unique path by removing the ‘modernness’ that we’ve seen in recent Marvel movies and taking us back to a time when things were simpler, it’s no surprise that gamers can’t wait to get their hands on this game.

However, it’s going to be quite a while before this Marvel game hits the shelves. Currently, the expected release year for the game is 2025, but we still haven’t received an exact month or day. The launch year was revealed during the CDC 2024 State of Unreal presentation.

It’s not surprising that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra still doesn’t have a release date because when it was initially announced in late 2022, it didn’t even have a title and was just revealed as a project for Skydance New Media.

As we head into 2025, it’s likely that we’ll receive more concrete details about the game’s release date. Let’s hope Hennig and her team can give us yet another game that goes down in the history books.
