JCW Acemans meanwhile start from $65,990 before on-road costs, or $5000 more than the Aceman SE Favoured which currently stands as the flagship of the electric SUV’s lineup.

The electric vehicles (EV) feature shared powertrains, which are almost on par with the outputs of petrol JCW hatchbacks.

For context, the Mini JCW hatchback’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine produces 170kW and 280Nm, accelerating from 0-100km/h in 6.1 seconds.

The electric JCWs are based on a completely different platform to petrol models, and are produced in China as a part of a joint venture between Mini’s owner BMW and GWM.

Electric JCWs are distinguished by their closed-off grille and lack of an exhaust tip.

The JCW Electric comes with a high level of equipment, which includes a 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, heated and power-adjustable front seats, a panoramic glass roof, ****** synthetic leather upholstery and unique 18-inch ‘Mastery’ wheels.

Compared to the standard models upon which they’re based, the JCW editions feature sporty body kits (akin to the JCW Trim version of the Cooper SE sold overseas), unique wheel designs (18-inch for the Cooper, 19-inch for the Aceman) and ****** contrast elements.

JCW Acemans carry the same equipment, though with larger 19-inch ‘Strive’ wheels. Hankook performance tyres are standard across the JCW lineup.

Other JCW-specific features include red brake calipers, unique grilles, numerous JCW badges, bespoke daytime running light signatures and ****** exterior highlights.

There’s no change to the 240mm round OLED infotainment touchscreen, which remains the same size as in the rest of the range.
