FromSoftware’s Elden Ring has seen a massive resurgence this year, with millions of gamers flocking to the Lands Between with the debut of Shadow of the Erdtree.

The first and only expansion for Elden Ring didn’t disappoint. Not only did it bring some incredible additions to the game, but it also added to the commercial success. Despite all of that, gamers couldn’t overcome Hidetaka Miyazaki’s ultimate challenge in the title.

There’s no denying the fact that Elden Ring has a plethora of tough challenges to go through from start to finish. However, if you’re willing to go the extra mile, Hidetaka Miyazaki and his team have brought tons of achievements and trophies to gather in the game.

One of the very first achievements that players can unlock in Elden Ring is Roundtable Hold. This is the central hub for the Tarnished to give their gear an upgrade, strengthen their abilities, and talk with the various NPCs.

Roundtable Hold achievement can be unlocked within 1-2 hours of play by meeting Melina, who offers players a trip to the hold after staying at a Side of Grace. Close to Sites of Grace, you can also find the Tree Sentinel, which many people believe is necessary to complete the achievement.

77.5% of the community has the Roundtable Hold achievement.

This means that more than 5.5 million players got stuck at the Tree Sentinel, failing to realize that it’s not necessary to fight the boss, or many didn’t make it far into the game to ever discover the table. FromSoftware truly played a masterstroke and managed to make such an insane profit from Elden Ring players who couldn’t even get the first achievement.

After Shadow of the Erdtree, many thought that FromSoftware was done with the IP. Miyazaki himself stated that the Soulslike game wouldn’t receive any DLCs, and the studio would be heading to a brand-new project.

However, it seems like FromSoftware has realized the potential of the IP and is bringing a twist to it. At The Game Awards 2024, the studio revealed Elden Ring: Nightreign. It’s a spin-off title that’s set to be a multiplayer endeavor. You can think of it as a Roguelike title, bringing a completely new experience to the table.
