West *********** quick Bryce Jackson has been confirmed as Mitch Marsh’s replacement in Perth Scorchers’ squad for this season.

Just days out from the franchise’s season opener against Melbourne Stars on Sunday night, Jackson has been added to the side with Marsh looking increasingly unlikely to play a part.

Marsh, who has battled a sore back through the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against India, would be available for only a small window before he likely heads to Sri Lanka for a Test tour in late January.

*********** players will gather for a camp in Abu Dhabi, around 10 days before the series begins in Galle.

Jackson will be available to play as a local replacement player while Marsh is on Test duties.

“It feels amazing to be able to chuck on the orange and ****** with the history this club has in the competition. I feel very privileged to be a Scorcher,” he said.

The Albany product burst onto the scene with a six-wicket haul in just his second one-day match for WA earlier this summer and has starred for Melville in Premier Cricket.

He knocked back interest from rival franchise Brisbane Heat to commit to a replacement deal with the Scorchers.

Jackson joins a stacked pace line-up that already includes nationally-contracted quicks Lance Morris and Jhye Richardson as well as Jason Behrendorff, Andrew Tye, Mahli Beardman and Matt Kelly.
