Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Upcoming Event Sets an Almost Impossible Requirement for Bragging Rights

The Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, better known as Pokémon TCG Pocket, is one of the latest tabletop card games based on the Pokémon franchise. As mobile gaming is rapidly getting popular, game developers are trying to bring mobile versions of their popular gaming franchises to these handheld devices to widen the audience range and The Pokémon Company isn’t slacking behind in this race.

In October 2024, the 1996-released Pokémon Trading Card Game received its improved mobile version, and within two months, the developer team is ready to bring a new in-game event where players can receive emblems, but the twist is the given criteria. What the game wants players to complete seems kind of impossible to achieve.

In-game events are nothing surprising for Pokémon TCG players. The base game has been running for more than two decades, and players have encountered multiple in-game events in these years. However, what’s exciting about the latest mobile version is that the upcoming event is going to give players emblems, but only when they fulfill certain requirements.

Pokémon TCG Pocket is an impressive adaptation of the 1996 game, and like its predecessor, it also allows players to collect cards, build decks, and engage in battles against other players. Now, as the season of celebration is only a few steps away, Creatures Inc. and DeNA have planned to release a new event where, according to them, players can earn, “emblems that can be set on your profile” based on the winning streak.

To elaborate on it further, the post reveals that players must try to achieve 2-5 consecutive victories to earn these emblems. Each time they fulfill the given criteria, the game will give them an emblem as a reward and acknowledge their skills.

This may sound easy, but the process is tougher than you can imagine. First, some card decks are broken. Next, there are even restrictions in making card decks. Players can’t make as many decks as they want. Instead, they have to delete old decks to form new ones if they have touched the extreme point set by the game.

Another major issue is the coin flip issue that is ruining the battle system of the game. If you have played it, you are aware that during a battle, the player who goes first can neither attach energy to their Pokémon nor attack. So, it’s the second player who begins attacking.

That’s extremely unfair, and by combining these issues, it looks like earning emblems will not be based on the skill level of a player, but it’s completely dependent on how lucky they are.

Players Must Choose Suitable Cards to Increase Winning Probability

Pokémon TCG Pocket blends the virtual Pokemon experience of Pokémon GO with a classic card game technique. However, the most attractive feature of this game is its battle system, which allows players to make card decks and fight with friends or strangers online.

Despite the battle system having always been disputed, it can’t be left to luck when it comes to earning emblems to show off skill level. At the time of writing, there’s no exact date has been stated for the event, but players must get prepared with all the powerful cards in their possession.

The game has a wide variety of cards, and new cards also make entries as part of updates and events. Therefore, choosing the right cards may help players a little to handle this situation. For example, they can choose to have Zapdos EX, which deals a whopping 200 DP upon coin flip.

Additionally, there are several other good options like Marowak EX, which requires two energy points, but it flips two coins, with each of them dealing 80 DP. If it’s not suitable for you, you can consider Aerodactyl, which is one of the best defensive cards in the entire game.

Aside from these, Persian, Lickitung, Golurk, Pinchurchin, Dugtrio, etc., are also pretty good when you are trying to handle the coin flip to maintain your winning streak. Anyway, note one thing: none of these can ensure your win; they can only increase the chance.
