St Georges Terrace buzzed with excitement as thousands of families descended on Perth CBD for the 53rd annual Alinta Energy Christmas Pageant. Hundreds of children were dressed as their favourite festive characters, including Santa Claus, Mrs Claus, Will Ferrell’s Elf and, of course, The Grinch. Home and Away stars James Stewart and Ada Nicodemou, pictured above, made the journey to be part of Perth’s Christmas festivities on Saturday night. “I’m really stoked to be here especially with my daughter, because half of her family comes from Perth and they’re all here … so we’ve got this real affection for Perth,” Stewart said. The real-life couple — who play Home and Away love interests Justin Morgan and Leah Patterson — said they couldn’t say no to a trip to Perth. “I love coming to Perth … everyone’s so lovely and any opportunity I get, I try and come over,” Nicodemou said. Emily Lockhart, 9, said it was her fourth time at the pageant and said she was most excited to see the jolly man in red himself. “I’m so excited to see Santa … it’s so much fun,” she said. “I really want Santa to bring me a buggy so I can ride the streets around my house.” George Simpson, 7, said video games were at the top of his Christmas wish list. “I’m really hoping Santa brings me some video games because they’re fun,” he said. George’s mum, Sarah Simpson, said she had brought her children down three hours early so they could secure front row seats. Camera IconThe 2024 Alinta Energy Christmas Pageant.
