UFC and WWE Games Should Learn From This 1 Cool Feature in Undisputed Makes Your Knockout Victories More Satisfying Than Ever

The video game industry is constantly evolving, and one genre that doesn’t see many new features is the sports genre. While games like UFC 5 and WWE 2K24 focus on delivering flashy visuals and the latest athletes, they miss the small wins sometimes. One game that’s tried something new and cool is Undisputed, a boxing game by Steel City Interactive.

The game added an instant replay system that lets you replay your knockout punches from multiple angles. It might seem little but the feature brings an unmatched sense of immersion and triumph. UFC and WWE games could benefit from it too.

Undisputed‘s Instant Replay System is Pretty Cool

Undisputed’s instant replay system was introduced as part of a beta test in the Big Daddy Update in July 2023. The system lets players pause and switch between different camera angles in the replay to look at their knockout blows from different camera angles.

Whether you want a close-up of the final punch or the referee’s POV, the replay system lets you see the most satisfying angle. This flexibility is missing in current UFC and WWE games, where replays are limited to automated highlights. The game has many issues but this isn’t one of them.

Boxing has always been about moments. The knockout punch, the perfect counter, or the climactic end to a hard-fought match. The ability to replay and reframe these moments in Undisputed adds to the payoff. This also fits perfectly with the growing popularity of user-generated content, where players can easily create and share clips.

Undisputed is the real deal! The final game has been updated with massive improvements in punching, animation, and balance.

This game is FUN, pretty, and very competitive. If you are a Fight Night fan, this is a must buy.

Both UFC and WWE games have replay systems, but they lack this feature. UFC and WWE games like EA Sports UFC 5 and WWE 2K24 have automatic highlight reels but offer no control over the angles or specific moments players want to revisit.

According to sales data (via

), it debuted at No. 4 on the charts for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This performance is unprecedented for a boxing game, as no title in the genre had cracked the top 10 in over a decade. The game even impressed us in our own review of it.

Its many features, including the replay system, have helped set it apart from more established sports franchises. The game also has DLC packs like the upcoming Problem Child DLC Pack featuring Jake Paul which will release on December 12. Steel City Interactive has been quick to add Paul after his victory against Mike Tyson on November 16.

The success of Undisputed’s instant replay system shows the potential for more interactive and immersive features in combat sports games. UFC and WWE titles could also use this feature. Imagine seeing a KO in UFC from multiple angles or watching your WWE finisher from the crowd’s perspective.

As technology evolves, instant replay systems will become even better. Who knows where we’ll end up with features like VR integration, advanced AI-driven camera angles, and real-time editing tools?

Do you think this feature will make it to more fighting sports games? Let us know your thoughts!
