that Forza Motorsport will be getting a new PC-only update on December 9 that adds ray-traced global illumination lighting (RTGI) to further enhance the game’s already-stunning visuals.

Basically, RTGI uses existing illumination technology to compute more accurate indirect lighting and occlusion across tacks and cars in real-time. As a result, the game’s hyper-realistic graphics are even more impressive. This extends to every aspect of the game, including gameplay, cinematics, and photo mode.

RTGI can be turned on by setting the “Raytracing Quality” option to “Full Reflections + RTGI,” and then choosing a quality level under “RTGI Quality.” The feature will surely require high-end hardware and impact your frame rate, so Nvidia suggests enabling either DLSS or DLAA to help compensate.

The Forza series has been utilized by Nvidia many times to show off new graphical technology. Last year, Nvidia added DLSS 3 support to Forza Horizon 5.

Forza Horizon 4 is also being delisted and removed from Game Pass later this month on December 15, so be sure to grab it while you still can.
