Clancy’s Fish Pub will reopen its venue near Canning Bridge in response to overwhelming community support. The venue, which shut in May after nearly 25 years of operating, has been reimagined with refreshed and simplified offerings for punters. And it is set to open in time for the summer heat — officially opening its doors on the corner of Caning Highway and Ogilvie Street at 4pm on Friday. The owners of Clancy’s By The Bridge promise a sun-drenched outdoor terrace and refurbed interior to welcome families, food-lovers, casual diners and ***** enthusiasts alike. “Community is at the heart of everything we do,” Clancy’s Group managing director Joe Fisher said. “We’re excited to revitalise a place where good times, cold pints and casual meals can be shared.” The refreshed venue’s menu is headed by former Il Lido head chef Ramendeep Singh and will serve up cult-classic favourites including fish tacos and chilli mussels with the addition of modern-style share plates and *********-inspired pinsas (hand-pressed pizzas). Local wines and beers will also be available including brews from Otherside Brewing, Rocky Ridge and Last Drop. The vibrant space will also feature a dynamic line up of live entertainment including groovy vinyl DJ sets from Brother B and Mama Cass. Mr Fisher said Clancy’s had been an institution in Perth’s hospitality scene for 30 years and the return of the Canning Bridge venue was a celebration of the community it serves. “Clancy’s By The Bridge invites loyal regulars and newcomers to enjoy the revived space and fresh new vibes, establishing itself as Canning Bridge’s new local,” he said. When it closed in May, locals shared their devastation. “Oh this is devastating! Will really miss our lovely local, awesome staff and food. I’m so sad,” one said. Another commented: “Big shame. Great pub with good atmosphere and food. Been going since I was young. So sad to hear.” Clancy’s also sold its Dunsborough venue in May after almost 15 years in the South West.
