Then, This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up acquired the developer for a massive sum of money. The next Elder Scrolls game is still years from being released. (Image via Bethesda Game Studios) Naturally, this has led to the entire gaming community speculating wildly about what kind of features and new mechanics the game will include and how it will evolve Bethesda’s current formula. However, it seems like the game’s biggest rival, The Wayward Realms, has already one-upped the title before its release by bringing a revolutionary mechanic. Elder Scrolls 6 Rival Transform NPC Interaction and Bethesda Should Learn The Wayward Realms brings a lot of unique and new features to the RPG genre. (Image via OnceLost Studios) If you’re unaware, The Wayward Realms is a new open-world RPG being developed by OnceLost Games. The studio is led by Ted Peterson and Julian LeFay. Peterson was one of the main designers for Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls franchise and established all the worldbuilding. On the other hand, LeFay is considered to be the father of the Elder Scrolls, as he directed some of its major games. Even though it’s presented as an Elder Scrolls 6 rival, the game is an indie project that has a lot going for it in terms of gameplay, size, and features. One of the most interesting things we can see from the title’s gameplay trailer is deep NPC interaction systems and factions. One of the best parts about a fantasy setting is meeting and learning about its people. The Wayward Realm‘s trailer This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up that the title will feature speech aspects that are crucial to the gameplay, especially for those who select diplomacy for their builds. Taking inspiration from iconic titles such as Morrowind and Daggerfull, the game will feature topic-based dialogues and joinable factions that will give you unique quests. The developers are promising dynamic interactions, including massive towns that are populated by huge crowds. If a player singles out an NPC, the game uses AI technologies to generate their unique personality, skills, and attributes. With how OnceLost Games is approaching the project’s NPC interactions and faction system, the game will undoubtedly bring an incredible layer of immersive experience and give us a never-seen-before RPG experience. It’s clear that the next Elder Scrolls 6 needs to adapt such mechanics or even surpass them. Otherwise, the Bethesda title won’t achieve the same success as its predecessors. Former Bethesda Developer Wants You To Lower Your Expectations For Elder Scrolls 6 Elder Scrolls 6 might not match your expectations upon release. (Image via Bethesda Game Studios) Learning from its current rivals in the industry, Bethesda will obviously evolve the Elder Scrolls formula and bring new elements to lure in gamers. However, one of the former Bethesda developers states that gamers must lower their expectations for the title. Bruce Nesmith was a former designer at Bethesda who worked on developing various titles such as The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. In an This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up with Kiwi Talkz, he opened up about his experience working on the Elder Scrolls titles and stated that it would be “nearly impossible” for Elder Scrolls 6 to live up to the hype. Nesmith says that he still believes in Bethesda and that the next Elder Scrolls title will be an incredible game. The problem is that it’s been over a decade since fans of the franchise have seen a new game, so their expectations being sky-high isn’t surprising. Bethesda should’ve never announced the game so early. It complicates things as players demand the title even more. The longer any project sits in development, the more rumors spread around it and set the community up for some big disappointments. Gamers have a tendency to hype everything and expect the impossible for titles with big development cycles, as seen with Cyberpunk 2077 and Howard’s magnum opus, Starfield.
