Elden Ring is Still Nowhere Near Dark Souls, But None of Hidetaka Miyazaki’s RPG Classics Are Close to Beating the Highest Selling JRPG of All Time

Dark Souls is one of the most successful games from Hidetaka Miyazaki. It is up there on the list of the highest-selling JRPG series. of all time. Even Elden Ring does not come close to it. Elden Ring is one of the most intricately designed games of all time, and yet it fails to stand amongst the highest-selling games of all time.

However, there is one game that has sales so high that it’s soaring beyond the skies. Even Dark Souls or any other Miyazaki title does not even come close to challenging the sales numbers achieved by this widely celebrated JRPG series.

This JRPG Series Beats Elden Ring And Dark Souls By A Huge Margin.

Pokémon is the best-selling JRPG of all time, with 480 million sales. Final Fantasy is next in line with 195 million sales, less than double the former’s. Pokémon’s wide success even beats Miyazaki’s best works, including Elden Ring and Dark Souls.

Dark Souls has 37.5 million sales, which seems like a small number compared to Pokémon. While these games are undoubtedly good, they still shed light on what works in the market.

Miyazaki is known for creating genre-defining, innovative games, whereas Pokémon rides on the former glory of its TV show, which is largely why it has such a wide market.
