. At least 18 have been hospitalized but no deaths have been reported. Of the 33 people interviews, 82% reported eating cucumbers, the FDA said. None of the cases were from Florida.

“Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems,” the FDA said. “Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be *******), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.”

Symptoms of salmonellosis usually show up from 6 hours to 6 days after infection and last 4 to 7 days, the FDA said.

The company issued the recall after the FDA notified them that the cucumbers were associated with reported salmonellosis illnesses between Oct. 12 and Nov. 15.
