Neverness to Everness, Hotta Studios’ upcoming 3D open-world RPG, will hold its first closed beta test. However, those of you who are ********* 3D RPG fans won’t be getting their mitts on it, unless you live in mainland China where the beta is set to take place.

, who gave a brief overview of some new lore drops for the release. However, if you’ve had the chance to get a look at the trailers showing off the city of Eibon (which you can see below) you probably won’t be surprised by the new additions. We’ve got more details on the slightly more comedic tone of the story, and plenty of glimpses at how the weird and the mundane co-exist in Hetherau.

You may know Hotta Studios’ better for their parent company Perfect World, who also created Tower of Fantasy, which made a major splash on release. And while Neverness to Everness does fit quite neatly into the 3D RPG setting, which has been shifting towards a bit more urban flair, it does have a few features to stand out.

Never say ever…again

For one, open-world driving! Yes, if you’re a fan of tearing through the city streets at 90mph in the middle of the night, first of all, turn yourself in to the police, but second, maybe feed that speed ****** with the ability to buy and customise a variety of cars instead! Just be careful, because crashes are just as destructive as in real life.

But in all seriousness, Neverness to Everness will face stiff competition upon release. Not only from MiHoYo’s Zenless Zone Zero which has once more set the standard for 3D open-world RPGs on mobile, but also from NetEase who have thrown their hat into the ring by tasking ****** Rain with developing Ananta (formerly Project Mugen) which also leaps into a similar setting.
