‘Superman & Lois’ Has Cracked the Code for a Superman Game That Can Very Much Be Like ‘The Last of Us’: Naughty Dog, Are You Listening?

For years, developers have been trying to bring Superman from comic books, movies, and TV shows to video games. However, almost every attempt results in a ********. The main issue ***** in finding the right balance for his ****-like powers with the need for engaging gameplay and immersive narrative.

However, it looks like Superman & Lois, the Arrowverse series, may have solved this issue by taking a storyline into a darker, emotionally charged direction that fans have never seen before. And if there’s one studio that could take this idea and hit it out of the park, it’s The Last of Us masterminds, Naughty Dog.

Why a Darker Superman Storyline is Perfect for a Game

Superman & Lois isn’t your typical Superman story. It introduced an unexpected and compelling storyline that takes the challenge a step further by introducing Tal-Ro, Kal-El’s Kryptonian half-brother, and revealing that many Kryptonians survived their planet’s destruction (but in an unconventional way).

While it is true that Superman is still saving the world, this time, the ****** is very personal and there’s a larger, far more insidious plan at play. His half-brother knows a way to bring other Kryptonians back to life, but it requires having the essence of the deceased Kryptonian’s soul inhabit human bodies.

Just imagine the game that could introduce an emotional and dark twist by putting Superman’s family and friends in danger of being taken over by Kryptonian essences. A race against the time when a family’s life is at stake. This kind of tension could add a level of heart-pounding urgency and emotional weight that we rarely see in superhero video games.

A game based on this storyline could take Superman into uncharted territory, both in terms of gameplay and narrative. Also, providing a solution to one of the challenges of creating a Superman game in the first place: how to make the hero look vulnerable. After all, a hero’s vulnerability is what makes players care and invest emotionally in their journey.

With villains sharing the same power as the Man of Steel, the game could showcase his vulnerability and *****: emotions we haven’t seen from him before. Suddenly, the Man of Steel isn’t just saving the world; he’s saving his family and friends. That’s a game we’d want to play.

Naughty Dog Could Bring This to Life (The Last of Us Style)

Naughty Dog is known for crafting emotionally charged narratives, complex characters, and unforgettable gut-punching moments. It has turned the post-apocalyptic world of The Last of Us into an absolute masterpiece.

The has become more than just about surviving in the harsh environment and fighting zombies. It’s about fostering love, feeling the pain of loss, and always being ready to sacrifice for loved ones. Now, imagine that in the world of Superman.

If the studio decides to take the ******** of creating a game based on the Man of Steel, and it takes the same care to bring the emotional weight, and storytelling prowess that they did with The Last of Us, we could be looking at a game that’s not just epic: it could be groundbreaking.

Just imagine a scenario where the Man of Steel is forced to do the ‘right thing’ when he is up against a person (now possessed) who he cares about. For example, imagine the emotional tension of having to take down an infected Lois Lane or his own son ( he has twin sons in the show).

At last, if there’s any studio that could do it justice to the CW show and translate it into a game, it’s Naughty Dog. So we are looking at you Neil Druckmann, don’t let this slide under the radar, make this happen.
