K-9 sniffs out 158 pounds of ***** during traffic stop near Flagstaff

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office seized about 158 pounds of methamphetamine from a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation.

On Nov. 25 just before 2:30 a.m., the department’s K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle near U.S. Highway 89 and Burris Lane, northeast of Flagstaff. During the stop, K-9 Dex was deployed to sniff the vehicle and alerted on the vehicle, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies found and seized the drugs.

The driver was arrested and booked into the Coconino County Detention Facility on suspicion of transportation of dangerous drugs for *****.
