The only reason that I can think of for not having an official DLC category is maybe due to the lack of any other serious contenders within that year.

What other major game this year released substantial DLC to compete with SOTE?

That’s what I initially thought until I looked it up and saw that there were quite a number of major expansions/DLC released this year.

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail

Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred

Alan Wake 2 had two DLCs (Night Spring and the The Lake House)

WoW: The War Within

Destiny 2: The Final Shape
