This CGI film is a sequel to the original Final Fantasy VII on PS1, offering a look at the fate of the world and main party members following the aftermath of the game’s ambiguous ending. Advent Children: Complete Edition adds additional footage that was cut from the original theatrical release, which helps smooth out some of the pacing and plot issues that held the original version back. Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV fleshes out the story of Final Fantasy XV, giving fans a look at events that were not shown in-game. While the game follows Prince Noctis and his entourage of friends on a road-trip-turned-world-saving-quest, Kingsglaive takes place concurrently and follows Noctis’ father, King Regis (voiced by Sean Bean), and the captain of the king’s elite Kingsglaive guard, Nyx (voiced by Aaron Paul), as they defend the kingdom of Lucis from the evil Nifelheim empire.
