In Meadowfell, there is absolutely no combat or challenge whatsoever. And if you think that sounds boring, you’d be right, but at the same time, Meadowfell offers plenty to do and explore that’ll keep you engaged, and relaxed. You’ll explore a procedural fantasy world, encountering various forms of wildlife and stunning landscapes.

But it’s not just a walking sim either, in Meadowfell you can unlock new animal forms to shapeshift into or build your garden to create a cosy home. There’s also dynamic weather to offer stunning new atmospheres, and a photo mode to take pictures of your world.

Slip quietly into a nap

I admit I’m not quite sure what to think of Meadowfell. I may prefer a more *****-back experience, with the strategy genre being a favourite, but I’m not sure how much I’d like something that intentionally has no combat or conflict whatsoever; not even a hunger metre.

But at the same time as I said above, Meadowfell is not lacking in content. The ability to create your own home and garden, take pictures, explore, shapeshift and more all means that there’s plenty to actually do besides passively experiencing the landscape. And if you get bored you can always just start up a new one, with the procedural generation offering a new place to explore each time.
