This affects your experience significantly, as it can lead to some factions being friendly while others might become hostile. Your reputation isnt fixed; it can go up or down depending on what they do in the game. Helping out faction members or completing quests will boost your reputation, but if you harm them or fail missions, it will lower it. Having a bad reputation in the game can lead to severe problems.
