Diablo 4’s mid-season 6 Season Campfire Chat brought multiple buffs to all six classes that boosted their powers. But that’s changing soon. Blizzard has confirmed that we’ll soon see more class changes coming with Patch 2.1, and the broken Spiritborn will finally be addressed. Even though these nerfs look harsh, the class will still be enjoyable to play with if it doesn’t get more changes.

There’s no doubt that the biggest piece for the new Vessel of Hatred expansion for Diablo 4 has been the brand-new Spiritborn class. It’s one of the most powerful and complex classes that allows the players to build four different Spirit Guardians, each with their unique playstyles, skills, and combat prowess.

However, Diablo 4 players soon figured out how to deal insane amounts of damage using glitches unique to the new Spiritborn class. Blizzard stated that it wouldn’t touch the class as long as it didn’t cause issues within the game until the arrival of season 7 when massive changes would come.

Diablo 4 Campfire Chat, game designer Charles Dunn, design director Colin Finer, and community director Adam Fletcher dropped everything that’s coming in PTR 2.1.

Blizzard will nerf the overpowered Spiritborn class and will particularly focus on Rod of Kepeleke. This item was the main reason behind all the chaos, and it greatly boosted the class’s overall potential. The developers will be nerfing its damage bonus from 1-3% to 0.1-0.5% per point of Vigor.

The developers still haven’t detailed how exactly Spiritborn itself will be handled, but they’re looking to maintain the class’ core gameplay, and that’s only possible if it isn’t nerfed too obviously. This means that even after the upcoming changes, there’s a high chance that Spiritborn will still be viable in Diablo 4, although not an instant pick for the win.

It’s not just various class changes and Spiritborn nerfs for the upcoming 2.1 PTR. Blizzard is also planning to bring new features and changes. The trio teased the Armory, a system that would allow saving and switching load-outs in Diablo 4 much easier.

The developers also highlighted other changes, including various mechanics that are linked to end-game activities. One of the quality-of-life changes will directly affect the game’s Paragon Board, which allows players to customize their builds after reaching the level cap.

All of Paragon experiences earned in a season will be brought to a player’s Eternal Realm progress for the next season. This Paragon experience migration mechanic will give players a shot to get their hands on Eternal Realm rewards without sweating about seasonal grinds.

There will be enhanced drop rates for Ancestral Legendary items through all tiers of the Torment difficulty system. Other crucial changes will also bring a completely reworked system for unique power rolls, class quest updates, and a Gem Fragment that can be used to craft Legendary items.
