Narkle – who has played 57 games for Geelong and Port Adelaide including 13 this year for the latter – will join the Dockers in the same way they recruited former Gold Coast wingman last year. Dockers list boss David Walls said Narkle’s versatility was attractive as they look complement a strong list with recruits. “His flexibility, that’s one thing we’re looking at, guys who can play multiple roles,” Walls told The West ***********. “Not just play inside or midfield, but be able to come in have an impact and add a different dimension but then go to a wing and then go to high forward. “I think that’s why he was the sub for Port Adelaide so many times (eight) this year … he played well in finals so we love that but it’s just his versatility that he gives.” The Dockers drafted Claremont ruckman Aiden Riddle on Friday as a rookie, having taken three players in the national draft across Wednesday and Thursday. Fremantle had intended to re-draft Max Knobel but Gold Coast swooped with their pick earlier to grab the 206cm big man. Walls and his team struck gold when Vic Metro’s MVP and Under-18 All-*********** midfielder Murphy Reid was available with their first pick at 17. Reid averaged 24.5 touches – including 9.2 contested – 3.2 clearances and 3.2 tackles in the national championships to catch the eye of the Dockers. “With a good pre-season there’s no reason why he can’t play a significant amount of footy for us next year,” Walls said on Reid. “We rated Murphy really highly, to get him where we did we’re thrilled. We think he’s really versatile and just got real class too. He’s got great footy IQ, so we’re pleased to bring him in.” The Dockers also landed lightly-built forward Charlie Nicholls (pick No.34) and father-on Jaren Carr (No.63) to round out their draft hand. Walls said alongside star recruit Shai Bolton the Dockers had addressed their needs this off-season. Camera IconFremantle draftee Jaren Carr with dad Matthew Carr. He is raw and he is going to take a few years to develop,” Walls said. “He’s pretty lean but he’s competitive, kicks it well, reads the flight of the ball well and he’s quick. He’s not a ready-made player but we think he’s got great attributes to develop and be a long-term player. “Jaren was the last one. Awesome to bring him in … it sounds like (father) Matt developed late physically and Jaren is doing the same, he’s still growing. “He’s a super runner, improved his kick out of sight. He’s done a bit of training with our guys and blowing them up with how strong his running is. We think he can be a good player for us long-term.” This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up #AFL #Draft #Fremantle #add #Quinton #Narke #Monday #complete #Dockers #list This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Link to comment https://hopzone.eu/forums/topic/173047-afl-draft-2024-fremantle-to-add-quinton-narke-on-monday-to-complete-dockers%E2%80%99-2025-list/ Share on other sites
