Deadpool and Wolverine break DIsney Plus record

Last week, Marvel dropped Deadpool and Wolverine to Disney Plus after a wildly successful theatrical outing, pulling in $1.34 billion, marking itself the second-most successful movie of the year so far, only being beaten by Pixar’s Inside Out 2, which pulled in $1.6 billion. But, it’s really doing numbers on the streaming service.

Within six days of streaming, Deadpool and Wolverine pulled 19.4 million views, according to

, not-so narrowly missing Pixar’s animated sequel film, which pulled 30.5 million views in five days, but it wasn’t the record it quite beat. The flick took the position of the most streamed live-action film on Disney Plus, once held by ****** Panther: Wakanda Forever. With Wakanda Forever, it was even noted as the most successful Marvel premiere, though, at the time, Disney wasn’t privy to share viewership numbers.

This isn’t the first record Deadpool & Wolverine has broken, and we assume it won’t be the last, with the film also taking home the record for the highest-selling R-rated title in its first week on the market stateside. It also found itself as the highest-selling R-rated movie of all time, surpassing 2019’s Joker. 

Directed by Shawn Levy, the Merc with a Mouth just wants to live a peaceful life, but things don’t go as planned as the Time Variance Authority taps him for help to save the multiverse. He won’t be doing it alone, of course, with Wolverine taking standing beside him.
