Fastest way to complete the Midnight Ride quest in Destiny 2: Into the Light

A new Hand Cannon enters the Destiny 2 arsenal. Here is the fastest way to complete the Midnight Ride quest in Destiny 2: Into the Light.

Out of the weapons I enjoy using the most, Hand Cannons are often my go-to choice for high-density mob situations in PVE and as a great way to collect ****** in PVP. Thankfully, Into the Light took notice of this and now has released the Midnight Ride quest – just like the Climbing the Mountaintop quest – which will allow us to unlock a new ******* from the past – in this case, the Midnight Coup. This Hand Cannon was heavily used during Destiny 2 Year 1 and now is back for us to enjoy. However, you will first have to complete one of the following objectives given by Arcite 99-40 in the Hall of Champions:

• Rapidly defeat combatants using Hand Cannons anywhere in the system Bonus progress for rapid final blows in Onslaught.
• Defeat Guardians using Hand Cannons.

Contrary to Climbing the Mountaintop, Midnight Rise’s objectives are actually completed pretty fast. You can go to any common farming location like the Shuro Chi encounter in the Last Wish Raid, or even venture to the Divalian Mists in the Dreaming City to farm some ****** with your Hand Cannon of choice. However, the bonus progression by Onslaught mode combined with a very “hot” ******* in particular will have you complete this in just a couple of waves.

Yes, I know, I’m a ******* for the Sunshot, but what can I say? It is one of if not the best ******* in the game – a bit of hyperbole never hurts anyone, right? Anyway, you can use other Hand Cannons similar to it like the Malfeasance, Fatebringer, Ace of Spades, etc. The thing you want to create with your Hand Cannon is an ********** that will generate a lot of fast ****** – which is the whole premise of the quest’s first objective. That is why the Sunshot shines – get it? – in this situation.

Given the speed at which you will complete this quest, any Onslaught map would work wonders. Midtown and Vostok will allow you to create more instances for your Scorch to ***** more enemies due to their close-quarter nature – more prominent in Midtown, while Mothyards will allow you more ******** opportunities given its openness allowing each Guardian to not cannibalize each other’s ******.
