Victim identified after deadly four-vehicle I-81 ****** near Dauphin/Lebanon County line

LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — State Police released new details Friday about the fatal four-vehicle ****** that closed a stretch of I-81 by the Dauphin and Lebanon County on Thursday morning.

James Stokes, 27, of Cresco, was ******* in the ****** that happened before 2:30 a.m. on I-81 north in East Hanover Township by Mile Marker 84.8, State Police at Jonestown said in a release.

A tractor-trailer crashed into the back of another one, causing the first tractor-trailer to jackknife. Then a vehicle that Stokes was a passenger in crashed into the back of the second tractor-trailer, which then caused that to move into the other lane where a fourth vehicle hit it and caught *****.

Stokes was pronounced ***** at the scene, while two other people were taken to Hershey Medical Center for evaluation, State Police say.

The investigation into the ****** is ongoing. Anyone with information or possibly caught the ****** on dash camera footage is asked to contact PSP Jonestown at (717)-865-2194.
