The fragile relationship system and the emphasis on individual choices helping or breaking the world around Rook give many players a cause for pause. The consequences of the player's actions have previously been more involved in the Dragon Age franchise, as in previous games, their decisions in some cases carried over to the following game and affected the overarching story from the beginning of the playthrough.
