In second position, we have the Nintendo DS with 154 million units sold, followed by the Nintendo Switch with 146 million units sold. PlayStation 4 sits in fifth place with 117.2 million units sold.

However, the sales of PlayStation seem to be gradually decreasing, with the PS4 in the fifth position and the PS5 not even included in the list since it has only 60 million units sold to date.

PlayStation 5 might be a great console, but its price point became a major cause for criticism, resulting in fewer sales altogether. PS5 Pro has also almost arrived with a price point of $700, which is just insane for a console. At the same price point, you can build a PC as powerful as the PS5 Pro.

The price point is the major cause of criticism and the biggest reason why PS5 is failing to do well in the market. Nintendo Switch, on the other hand, is still priced a little low, which enabled more players to buy it.

Keeping a high price point restricts your audience to a limited few people who can spend a high amount for a gaming console, whereas most of the people will not even think about spending that much.
