Arkansas State Police capture internationally wanted El Salvadorian gang member

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – What started as a routine traffic stop ended with Arkansas State Police troopers capturing a man who they said was an internationally wanted gang member.

ASO officials said troopers captured 42-year-old Elias Avila Bustillo of El Salvador as a result of the stop. They said Bustillo is wanted in El Salvador for ******** gang associations and was in the ******* States illegally, they said.

ASP officials said the traffic stop was at 9 p.m. Nov. 6 on Interstate 40 in North Little Rock near the 160 Mile Marker.

Officials said Bustillow was a passenger in the car and ran away into a nearby field. Troopers tracked the man as additional troopers arrived using ASP Air Support and a K9 unit from the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
