West Lafayette police ask for public’s help in identifying man they say attacked a couple

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — West Lafayette police are asking for the public’s assistance in finding and identifying a man who allegedly attacked a couple Monday morning.

Police responded to the 500 block of Northwestern Avenue about 10 a.m. for a report of a battery, police said in a news release.

A man and a woman said they were battered by a white male wearing a dark jacket and a Colts baseball cap who attacked the couple as they were walking along the street in front Wang Hall, police said. Both victims received minor injuries as a result of the *******.

Witnesses told police the man had made “a strange comment about the world ending” before the *******, then ran from the scene.

Anyone with information regarding the ******* or the man’s identity are asked to contact the West Lafayette Police Department at 765-775-5200. Tips may also be sent anonymously through the WeTip Hotline at 800-782-7463.

West Lafayette Police are asking for the publics help to identify a man seen in surveillance video who allegedly attacked a couple on Northwestern Avenue.
